Getting Started With the GoodCheckup Dental App
It’s EASY to connect with your dentist! Here’s how.
Although mobile apps have made many areas of our life more convenient, dental apps seem to have been a latecomer to the telemedicine revolution. Finally, that has been rectified with the GoodCheckup dental app.
After 2 years of development, we bring to you a fast and convenient way to communicate with your dental health care practitioner. Here we will walk you through the process of getting set up with the app so you can put a long-needed end to preemptive in-office dentist appointments.
First Download the App — It’s Free!
After downloading and opening the app, enter and verify your phone number
Once you’ve downloaded and opened GoodCheckup, it will then request that you enter your phone number. You will receive a text code on your phone to confirm that it’s a real number.
Enter your mobile number…
…and enter the verification number that GoodCheckup texts to you
Give the app permissions
Once you have done this, you will be prompted to grant the app permissions. Be sure to do so. If you are on an Android, it will ask you to allow it to “display over other apps.” This simply means the app can display notifications and updates over any other app you have open. This is important so that you can get the proper notifications overlaid on your screen.
We’ll walk you through the process to allow GoodCheckup to do it’s job using your device.
Enabling the “display over other apps” will make sure you get important notifications.
Select a dentist
Go to “Dental Health” in the lower right-hand corner. Then, select the “search for a doctor” option. Select the dentist you wish to see. If your dentist does not use the app there is also an option to walk you through inviting your current practitioner to join the app.
You can scroll or search to find a dentist to connect with.
If your dentist isn’t listed, it’s easy to invite them to start using GoodCheckup too!
Add a child or yourself
Tap on “Get Care” at the bottom of the screen. Choose “New Patient Virtual Visit.” Since this is the first time here, you will need to add a patient. The screen says “Add Children,” but you can add adults as well!
Fill in all the required information. You can set up multiple family members so that you don’t have to login to a different account for your children or spouse.
To schedule an appointment, add your child or yourself as a patient.
Only basic information is needed to get started.
Now you're ready to schedule!
Select the patient the appointment is for. Create, verify, and then enter the EHPI (Electronic Health Protected Information) PIN.
(An EHPI PIN is necessary to protect your privacy. Don’t worry, it’s as easy as adding your phone number to the app, and we walk you through it.)
Select a date for the online oral health checkup, then answer the set of questions provided and pay the modest consultation fee*. You’re all set.
*Payments handled with maximum security by Stripe. Your credit card information is safe.
Select the green or blue buttons to schedule an appointment.
Tell the app whom this appointment is going to be for.
Choose a date and time. The doctor has already indicated what time slots are available.
